Pastor claims that you are robbing God if you are not donating 10%, even if you are in debt

Check out my response to a video on biblical tithing, “Pastor claims that you are robbing God if you are not donating 10%, even if you are in debt.” We often ask, are Christians still required to tithe? And wonder did Jesus teach tithing?

We discuss biblical tithing truth because robbing God in tithes and offerings is quite an accusation, isn’t it? I think it’s important that we do so because this Charles Stanley tithes and offerings video is getting some attention lately! Robbing tithes is often a reference back to Old Testament Mosaic Law and biblical tithing is frequently debated.

If a Pastor claims you are robbing God, I want to help clear up where this thought process may be coming from and I do not believe it to be a well utilized one. The video, Pastor claims that you are robbing God if you are not donating 10%, even if you are in debt, is only about a minute long and I don’t want to take it out of context so I am merely discussing the verses at hand and how they apply today to Christian tithing.

What are YOUR thoughts on tithes and offerings?
